A new sponsorship program was adopted at the April meeting of the LGA Booster Club. It is hoped that this program will help defray the costs of participating in the LGA competitive gymnastics program. The parents of gymnasts are asked to identify businesses in Livonia and surrounding communities that might be willing to provide financial support in exchange for recognition from the LGA Booster Club and tax considerations for supporting a non-profit organization.
Parents are asked to identify businesses they would be willing to contact (ideally about 10 per family). To avoid duplication with several families approaching the same businesses, we are going to coordinate the list. You can either e-mail your list of potential businesses to deepetro@comcast.net or put it in Deana Petro's (Booster Club Vice President) mailbox in the gym.
When the potential sponsor list has been created, your individual list will be e-mailed to you so you can print the letters. We are asking the LGA families to use their own ink and paper to print these letters and have your gymnast sign them personally. The sponsor agreement forms will be provided to you at the same time.

Why do we need this program?
Participation in the competitive gymnastics program is growing increasingly more expensive. With costs approaching that of hockey, a fund raising program of this sorts stands to help participating families and perhaps attract more families to the LGA program.
Why should I get involved?
The program has been structured so that 10 percent of the sponsors you obtain will go to the cost defrayal account of your gymnast. Not only will this program help the LGA Booster Club with costs shared by all participants, but the costs borne directly by you will be reduced as well.
When do you need the list of potential businesses?
The sponsorship year is designed to run from June 1st to May 31st of each year. We are hoping to have a poster and other recognition material created by the beginning of August so everyone has them by the time the competition season begins. Please turn in your list of businesses by the middle of May and have the businesses either return a check with you or mail to the address on the bottom of the Sponsorship Agreement.

WHEN DOES THE PROGRAM BEGIN AND END?
THE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM FOR THE 2009-2010 SEASON WILL BEGIN THIS SUMMER! THE PROGRAM END DATE HAS NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED BUT USUALLY WHEN THE COMPETITION SEASON BEGINS SOMETIME IN SEPTEMBER.
